On October 24, 2023, Belarusian Filmmakers' Network (BFN) announced the launch of the Micro-budget Film Incubator in a bid to facilitate the development of new Belarusian cinema. The project will provide five aspiring filmmakers with an opportunity to create screenplays for their debut feature films. Of these five, two exceptional filmmakers will obtain micro-budget funding for their projects.

Before the next selection round, the authors were able to refine their applications.  Both the organizers and external industry experts are selecting the BFN incubator‘s shortlist that will be announced on November 30, 2023.

„We received 33 submissions. Both the number of applications and their quality were exceptional. We do appreciate the participants' trust, sincerity, and courage in their statements. Though the selection process was  just quantifying the points according to specific criteria, it was extremely difficult to make the choice. But the most important thing is that our pilot program is in demand, which shows that we're making progress in the right direction," says Vladimir Kozlov, co-founder of BFN and supervisor of micro-budget film incubator.
