Fostering (Poland, 2023, 19 min), dir. Andrey Kashpersky. An ironic grotesque film, a reflection on the topic of violence in Belarus 2020-2023.

The director offers a look at the processes taking place in Belarus through the eyes of a riot policeman, who is forced to accommodate detained protesters in his apartment for 15 days, since there are not enough places in prisons for political prisoners. Fostering is the first part of the anthology Processes, inspired by the TV series Black Mirror. The anthology explores the absurd processes taking place in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion on the topic: “From Good Bye, Lenin To Fostering - Is Irony Appropriate?” with the participation of experts and the director/screenwriter.

In addition, on this day, Kino Krokodil will show two more films about Belarus and/ or by Belarusian directors. For more information, please see the program https://kino-krokodil.de/

We invite everyone to come and enjoy the show(s)!
